Job description Animal World & Snake Farm Zoo is looking for a motivated person to fill a position in the Petting Zoo. Petting Zoo Attendants ensure that the Petting Zoo is a safe and fun environment for both the zoo guests and animals alike.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Greeting customers upon entering the Petting Zoo Possessing knowledge of species and individual animals within the Petting Zoo, as well as general knowledge of the facility and mission Maintaining the cleanliness of the Petting Zoo (including but not limited to raking, hosing, brushing, picking up trash, etc.) Ensuring the Petting Zoo is safe for animals and customers Reporting any animal issues or observations to Mammal Department staff Observing all company policies & standards Exceptional use of communication skills with the general public Understanding the significance of their role and how they can positively impact visitors; proactive, friendly communication will be expected at all times, as well as anticipating visitors' needs and desires Performing other related duties as assigned Ability to work 8 hour shifts Ability to be flexible with work schedule, including working weekends and holidays

EDUCATION AND PRE-REQUISITES

Previous animal or customer service experience is preferred, but not required. Candidates will need to have good communication skills, be able to follow specific instructions and to communicate activities and observations clearly in writing and verbally.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

This is a part time position that involves working on weekends and holidays.
