Job Description

Category Nursing - ORT Job Type Contract Step into a vital role supporting state-of-the-art surgical teams with this opportunity for experienced Certified Surgical Technologists (ORT) on a contract basis. Professionals in this position will work alongside talented healthcare staff to deliver quality patient care in one of New England's busiest operating rooms.
Schedule/Hours:
13-week contract; start dates: 3/16, 3/30, or 4/13 4x10 or 4x12 Day/Evening rotation; ability to flex between shifts as needed Each contract includes at least two weeks of nights At least two short on-call shifts per every four weeks, plus weekend shifts Example 4x10 shifts: 1p-11p evenings; 7a-5:30p M,T,Th,F; 9a-7:30p W Example 4x12 shifts: 11a-11p evenings; 7a-7:30p M,T,Th,F; 9a-9:30p W When assigned weekends, 12-hour shifts will be scheduled with shorter shifts during the week to meet contracted hours
Qualifications:
Certification as a Surgical Technologist (ORT) Proven experience in a high-capacity operating room environment Current BLS certification required Demonstrated ability to adapt to a fast-paced, collaborative surgical team Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare operating room and surgical instruments according to procedure requirements Scrub, gown, and glove surgical team members in compliance with aseptic technique standards Assist surgeons and nurses intraoperatively, anticipating instrument and equipment needs Ensure accuracy and completeness of surgical counts and documentation Adhere to strict safety and infection control protocols Enjoy a dynamic environment where your skills have a direct impact on patient outcomes.
