Security Installation Lead Technician

Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Physical Security Lead Technician with hands-on experience in Verkada, Genetec , and various access control systems . This role involves overseeing installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of security systems across client sites. The ideal candidate will have leadership experience in field-based security installations, demonstrate technical excellence, and ensure high-quality project delivery and client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and execute the installation, configuration, and commissioning of physical security systems including: Video surveillance (Verkada, Genetec) Access control systems (HID, Lenel, Openpath, etc.) Intrusion detection and alarm systems Serve as the subject matter expert and main point of contact for onsite technical issues. Oversee junior technicians and subcontractors; ensure all work meets code, design specifications, and quality standards. Interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation. Coordinate with project managers, clients, and vendors to ensure project timelines and budgets are met. Conduct site surveys and develop detailed installation plans. Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network-related issues. Provide end-user training and post-installation support to clients. Ensure compliance with safety policies, industry standards, and data security protocols.

Required Qualifications:

4+ years of experience in physical security system installation and support. Strong hands-on experience with Verkada and Genetec platforms. In-depth knowledge of access control systems , wiring, and infrastructure. Familiarity with PoE networks, IP addressing, switches, and VLANs. Ability to manage projects and lead field teams. Proficient with hand and power tools, cable testing, and low-voltage wiring. Valid driver's license and clean driving record. Ability to pass background check and drug screening.

Preferred Qualifications:

Manufacturer certifications from Verkada , Genetec , or major access control providers. Experience with cloud-based security systems and mobile deployment tools.

OSHA 10/30

certification. Knowledge of local and national security, fire, and safety codes.

Strong leadership and communication skills. Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving abilities. Client-focused with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly. Capable of working independently and in a team-oriented environment.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Comfortable working at heights and on ladders or lifts. Ability to work in varied environments (indoor/outdoor, mechanical rooms, etc.)
