Job Description:
Our client is seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join their team. This role is responsible for maintaining the integrity of financial reporting through the application of consistent accounting principles and procedures. The ideal candidate will have strong accrual accounting experience, advanced Excel skills, and the ability to manage large datasets while supporting cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead month-end close processes, including preparation and review of financial statements, journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules Own and manage complex accrual calculations and related analyses Research, analyze, and document budget-to-actual variances Prepare detailed financial analyses and reporting schedules to support leadership decision-making Review and approve ledger adjustments as needed Partner with internal departments to provide accounting support and financial guidance Leverage technology and Excel tools (including PivotTables and Power Query) to streamline reporting and improve processes Maintain and enhance internal documentation and procedures Lead meetings and assist with training initiatives as needed
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience with strong accrual-based GAAP knowledge Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, PivotTables, and experience working with large data sets (Power Query preferred) Experience with ERP systems; exposure to systems such as MRI or SAP is a plus Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with high attention to detail Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, collaborative environment Excellent written and verbal communication skills Self-motivated with strong independent decision-making capabilities
