Job Description:
Summary Our client, a Fortune 500 pharmaceutical company, is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to support major capital projects. This role requires strong expertise in HVAC, central utilities, process systems, plumbing, fire protection, controls, and BMS. The Engineer will oversee MEP/FP and critical equipment systems across the full project lifecycle-from concept and design through construction, commissioning, and closeout. Projects include laboratories, vivariums, pilot manufacturing spaces, infrastructure upgrades, and related facilities. This role involves managing multiple complex projects, ensuring compliance, quality, and adherence to budgets and schedules. The Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop solutions, mitigate risks, and address construction challenges. Key Responsibilities Support project budgeting, scheduling, and planning for new builds and renovations Define and document MEP/FP requirements with internal stakeholders (PM, Engineering, EHS, Operations, etc.) Conduct due diligence on existing systems to identify risks and improvement opportunities Assist with RFP development, bid evaluation, and contractor selection Coordinate with engineers, consultants, and contractors to resolve issues and drive solutions Review design documents, specifications, and reports for accuracy and compliance Oversee mechanical system requirements for lab and facility equipment Identify long-lead equipment and support early procurement planning Monitor construction progress through site visits and field reports Review submittals, RFIs, change orders, and punch lists Lead commissioning, validation, and system startup activities Support asset management and system documentation (IWMS) Mentor junior staff and oversee day-to-day MEP system operations Coordinate with municipalities for permits and inspections Manage contractors and internal technicians Requirements Bachelor's degree in Engineering 5+ years of MEP engineering experience Experience supporting large-scale projects (~500,000 sq ft) Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, Point, and Bluebeam Experience with IWMS systems Terms & Start Onsite 4 days/week in Westchester County 12+ month contract Start ASAP Benefits included (Medical, Dental, Vision)
