Job Description
Position Summary We are seeking a skilled and experienced Sheet Metal Structures Technician with strong knowledge in aircraft structural repairs and modifications. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of hands-on experience performing repairs, skin replacements, and structural inspections on business and commercial aircraft including Gulfstreams, Citations, Learjets, and King Airs. Working under our FAA-approved Part 145 Repair Station at Centennial Airport, this technician will support major and minor structural repairs in accordance with OEM data, FAA regulations, and company procedures. An Airframe Certificate is required. Primary Responsibilities Perform complex structural repairs and modifications on aluminum and composite aircraft structures. Remove and replace aircraft skins, stringers, bulkheads, doublers, frames, and panels as needed. Fabricate and install sheet metal parts and assemblies using hand tools, riveters, drill motors, shears, and brakes. Read and interpret engineering drawings, repair manuals, blueprints, and SRM (Structural Repair Manual) data. Complete structural inspections and repairs during scheduled maintenance, heavy checks, or post-incident evaluations. Drill, ream, countersink, deburr, and rivet using a variety of fasteners (AN, MS, Hi-Loks, CherryMax, etc.) Ensure all repairs and modifications are completed in compliance with FAA standards and repair station protocols. Document all work performed with accuracy in accordance with FAA and company documentation requirements. Collaborate with inspection personnel to ensure conformity and airworthiness. Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-compliant work environment in the structures shop or hangar. Assist with training junior technicians as needed.
Minimum Requirements:
FAA Airframe Certificate (required) Minimum 5 years of experience in aircraft structural repair or sheet metal work Extensive knowledge of airframe structure, materials, and corrosion prevention techniques Proficiency in interpreting SRMs, blueprints, and engineering orders (EOs) Experience working on business jets such as Gulfstreams, Citations, Learjets, and King Airs Familiarity with OEM structural repair procedures (Textron, Bombardier, Gulfstream, etc.) Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality craftsmanship Ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned tasks Must be able to pass FAA/DOT drug and alcohol screeningPreferred Qualifications:
Composite repair experience a plus (carbon fiber, fiberglass) Training from OEM structural repair programs or Abaris composite courses Familiar with CAMP, Corridor, Quantum, or similar maintenance management systems Previous Part 145 Repair Station experience highly preferred IA or Powerplant Certificate (not required, but a plus)Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift up to 70 lbs and work in confined areas or at heights Capable of standing, kneeling, or crouching for extended periods Comfortable working around noise, dust, and potential chemical exposure (PPE provided) Work Schedule & Compensation Full-time; Monday through Friday, minimum 40 hours per week. Occasional after-hours or weekend work may be required to support AOG or customer needs. Benefits Company-sponsored health, dental, vision, and life insurance (per company policy).
