Service Writer

Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Service Writer to join our automotive service team. The ideal candidate will serve as the primary point of contact for customers, ensuring their service needs are met efficiently and professionally. This role requires strong communication skills, mechanical knowledge, and a customer-focused approach to facilitate seamless service experiences. Responsibilities Greet customers and assess their service needs in a friendly and professional manner. Accurately document customer concerns and vehicle issues for the service technicians. Provide estimates for services such as oil changes, tire services, and other automotive repairs. Coordinate with mechanics to ensure timely completion of services while maintaining high-quality standards. Handle cash transactions, including processing payments and managing suspensions as necessary. Maintain detailed records of services performed, parts used, and customer interactions. Promote additional services based on customer needs and vehicle condition, utilizing automotive sales techniques. Follow up with customers post-service to ensure satisfaction and address any further concerns. Experience Previous experience in an automotive service environment is preferred. Strong mechanical knowledge with familiarity in automotive diagnostics and repair processes. Experience handling cash transactions accurately. Background as a mechanic or service technician is a plus. Ability to effectively communicate technical information to customers in an understandable manner. Proficiency in using service software systems for record keeping and scheduling is advantageous.
