Job Title:
Shipping and Receiving Clerk - 3rd shift - 20.75/hr Job Description The Shipping and Receiving Clerk manages the accurate movement of materials and finished goods within a manufacturing environment. This role involves pulling steel parts based on material lists and bills of lading, processing incoming and outgoing shipments, and using computer systems to support labeling, inventory control, and logistics. The position requires regular lifting of up to 50 pounds and the safe operation of forklifts and other material handling equipment. Responsibilities Handle daily shipping and receiving activities, ensuring all incoming and outgoing materials are processed accurately and on time. Pull parts and materials according to material lists and bills of lading, with a focus on steel components up to 50 pounds. Receive parts and materials from trucks, verify counts and documentation, and record all receipts in the computer system. Operate a forklift to pull, move, load, and unload parts and materials safely within the warehouse and production areas. Perform material handling duties, including order picking, packing, packaging, and staging shipments for dispatch. Use computer systems to create and print labels, process shipments, record receipts, and maintain accurate inventory records. Assist with inventory control activities, including cycle counts, warehouse inventory checks, and reconciliation of discrepancies. Load and unload trucks, ensuring materials are handled safely and stored in the correct locations. Support production by ensuring required parts and materials are picked, staged, and delivered to the appropriate areas. Follow established logistics and shipping procedures to ensure accuracy, traceability, and on-time delivery. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in the warehouse and shipping/receiving zones. Adhere to all safety guidelines, including proper use of steel-toe footwear and required attire, and follow company policies and procedures. Essential Skills Previous shipping and receiving experience in a warehouse, manufacturing, or industrial environment. Forklift experience required, including experience operating forklifts for loading, unloading, and material movement. Ability to lift and handle up to 50 pounds on a regular basis, particularly steel parts and components. Proficiency using computers for shipping, receiving, labeling, and data entry tasks. Experience with inventory control, including inventory checks, warehouse inventory, and cycle counts. experience in logistics, shipping and receiving, and general warehouse operations. Ability to perform order picking, parts pulling, and order selection accurately and efficiently. Basic computer skills, including data entry and use of common software applications. Willingness to work a third shift schedule (11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.), including applicable shift differential. Capability to perform general labor tasks associated with production support and material handling. Additional Skills & Qualifications Manufacturing or industrial experience in shipping and warehouse operations. Experience with parts pulling, order pulling, and order selection in a production or hardware environment. Familiarity with SAP or similar ERP systems for inventory and shipping transactions. Experience using Microsoft Excel and Word for basic documentation and tracking. Comfort working in a metal stamping or hardware manufacturing environment. Attention to detail and accuracy when handling shipments, documentation, and inventory records. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Archbold, OH. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
