Job Summary:
The Shipyard Repair Foreman is responsible for overseeing and coordinating duties throughout the shipyard and on vessels. The individual must be able to maintain effective communication with all positions to ensure the timely and accurate completion of duties. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, 2:30 p.m.-10:30 p.m. Weekends and overtime should be highly anticipated in this role. What you'll get: 8 paid holidays. Paid time off. Advancement opportunities. What you'll be doing: Lead/participate in recurring meetings with various levels of management and plan, coordinate, and assign job duties to team members. Coordinate efforts to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair equipment, which includes but is not limited to disassembly, root cause analysis, implementing corrective measures, reassembly, and testing of the device. Oversee all aspects of job site safety and enforce protocols as deemed necessary according to company safety standards and the United States Coast Guard safety standards. Access various levels of the shipyard and vessels to monitor team members and audit performance. Perform routine inspections of completed projects and ensure quality standards are met. Assist team members with the completion of various job duties as necessary. Complete basic cleaning duties such as cleaning the job site and discarding trash. What you'll need: Minimum of 4 years of experience running a crew in a shipyard repair environment. Possess/maintain a working knowledge of various shipyard positions to ensure proper training and satisfactory performance of job duties of all team members. Ability to meet and maintain all qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards. Ability to maintain reasonably regular and punctual attendance. Compliance with all personnel policies and practices. On-the-job training, regular training, and recertification required. Ability to work alone for extended periods and in teams.
