Shop Support/Delivery Driver

Overview:

Applicant will be responsible for intermittent deliveries to locations around the state as well as to locations in eastern Mass and New Hampshire, using a 3/4 ton truck and trailer. Must be able to pass DOT physical and be proficient in maneuvering truck and trailer. When not involved in deliveries, applicant will support production of structural steel, this will include applying shop coat to finished product, fabricating parts using various machine tools and general shop floor support. Responsibilities:

• Load and unload products using a pallet jack and other necessary equipment.
• Use a forklift to lift and move heavy items, if required.
• Handle heavy lifting and bending, as needed.
• Follow established routes and maps to ensure efficient delivery.
• Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with customers and resolving any issues promptly.
• Keep the delivery area clean and organized.
• Maintain accurate records of deliveries and any issues that may arise.
• Conduct pre
• and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the vehicle is safe and roadworthy.
• Follow all traffic laws and regulations while driving.
• Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor while on the job.

Skills:

• Experience with pallet jacks and other equipment used for loading and unloading.
• Ability to operate a forklift and lift heavy items.
• Skill in navigating through heavy traffic and construction zones.
• Physical ability to lift, bend, and move heavy packages and items.
• Experience with heavy lifting
• Excellent customer service skills.
