JOB DESCRIPTION

Key Responsibilities Lead the City's current and advance planning and community development functions Oversee development review activities, including zoning petitions, site development plans, variances, and other related applications Administer and interpret the City's new Unified Development Code Work with developers, property owners, businesses and local residents on development related projects Prepare staff reports, recomendations, and presentations to the City's Advisory Boards and City Commission Support economic development initivies and implementation of community development goals Coordinate with other City departments, external agencies, and community stakeholders on planning and development processes The Ideal Candidate Should have at a minimum a Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning, Public Administration, Geography, or related field. Five to eight years of professional planning experience in a municipal setting Strong knowledge of land use planning, zoning, development review and municipal processes Proven leadership, project managment, and organizational skills Excellent written, verbal and public presentation ability Ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively with City staff, elected officials, and the public AICP Certification Application Deadline First review of applicatins will be October 14, 2026
