JOB DESCRIPTION GENERAL FUNCTION
The Sr Manager- Finance (Pricing) will be the responsible Underwriter for EyeMed's new business acquisition across all commercial segments; handling the quoting process and deals evaluation. This person will act as the primary contact for business development activities, with daily interactions with our sales and account management organization. Acting as a key escalation point in the segment, this person will also be acting as a gate keeper of EyeMed's financial governance. This role will also be focused on research and development of new Underwriting methods and analytical reporting.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for management of assigned Underwriting and Pricing segment, New Business Acquisition, handling the quoting process and Proforma evaluation of client accounts, as well as the relationship with Sales and Account Management. Collaborates with EyeMed senior leadership on strategic deal evaluation and approvals process, preparing P&Ls for executive review. Responsible for documentation of deals, and post-closure analysis of significant accounts Lead Underwriter in the research and development of new methodologies, tools, and data analysis to support the Underwriting department's strategic initiatives. Collaborates with Sales and Account Management to adequately identify risks and opportunities to their current financial forecasts / plans, ensuring governance throughout the quoting process. Supports Underwriting and Finance departments in cross-functional data analysis and BI projects. Support EyeMed Finance in ad hoc financial analyses and project work as necessary
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Statistics, or Finance 8+ years of analytical work in pricing / finance Advanced skills in MS Excel, strong written & verbal communication skills Strong problem-solving skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Prior experience of Insurance pricing, or underwriting responsibilities. Can draw logical conclusions based on a clear grasp of the information and interrelationships between issues Thinks strategically and analytically with all respects to financial analysis.
