Position Overview The Policy Analyst provides research, analysis, writing, and coordination support across GHF's health policy priorities. Reporting to the Director of Health Policy, this role helps the organization produce timely and accurate policy materials, stay on top of legislative developments, meet grant deliverables, and ensure that policy data, information, and insights reach the teams and partners who need them. Key Responsibilities Research and Policy Analysis Research state and federal health policy topics, including Medicaid, private health insurance and the Affordable Care Act, behavioral health, public health, and other topics that impact health care cost, quality, and access to health care and coverage for Georgians. Monitor and analyze legislation pertaining to GHF's policy priorities throughout Georgia's legislative session (Jan-March), including monitoring relevant legislative committees at the Georgia Capitol and study committees outside of legislative session Track state and federal regulatory changes and agency guidance relevant to GHF's work. Conduct comparative research on how other states are approaching similar policy challenges. Identify and compile data, reports, and evidence to inform and/or support GHF's policy positions Policy Writing and Communications Draft policy materials such as one-pagers, fact sheets, issue briefs, policy memos, and legislative summaries. Translate complex health policy topics into clear, accessible language for a range of audiences. Support researching, writing, and editing of GHF's policy communications. Contribute to drafting weekly legislative updates and action alerts during Georgia's legislative session Cross-Team Coordination Prepare background documents, talking points, and source materials for use by GHF's Engagement department. Provide policy support for GHF's programmatic work, as needed Coordinate across departments to keep policy-related workflows moving, particularly during legislative session Provide light project coordination support, including task follow-up and scheduling support during high-volume periods Partner and Coalition Engagement Represent GHF's Policy Department at coalition meetings and partner convenings, as needed Conduct outreach to partner organizations to support coordination and information sharing Grant Reporting and Evaluation Draft narrative sections for grant reports and help collect supporting activity data. Contribute to evaluation tracking, internal dashboards, and documentation of program outputs. Help maintain organized records of grant deliverables and related work products. Some statewide travel (~10%) may be required to meet with community partners and stakeholders. Some domestic travel to conferences or trainings may also be required/requested. Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree in public policy, public health, political science, or a related field required; graduate degree preferred. Equivalent professional experience may be substituted. 2-4 years of experience in health policy, policy research, legislative affairs, advocacy, or a related area. Strong research skills and the ability to independently find and synthesize policy information Excellent writing skills with experience producing clear, accurate content for varied audiences Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment Familiarity with health policy topics such as Medicaid, the ACA, insurance affordability, and behavioral health access Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Commitment to health equity and GHF's mission Preferred Experience working in or with state government, legislative bodies, or advocacy organizations Knowledge of Georgia's health policy and political landscape Experience with grant reporting, program evaluation, or data tracking Experience supporting coalition work or multi-stakeholder initiatives Compensation & Benefits The anticipated salary for this full-time position is $70,00-$75,000 GHF additionally offers a comprehensive benefits package, including: Medical, dental, and vision insurance Simple IRA with employer match Generous paid time off (20 PTO days plus paid holidays) Hybrid work environment with two in-office days per week (Candidates who live outside of the metro-Atlanta area will be considered.
