Research Duties & Responsibilities:
The Research Coordinator will support data collection for a mobile maternal clinic pilot study serving maternity care deserts in Virginia. Responsibilities include collecting participant demographic information, health history, and referral data; maintaining subject records; and entering and managing data in REDCap. The coordinator will collaborate closely with investigators, clinical providers and research staff to ensure data quality, regulatory compliance, and timely completion of study objectives.
Job responsibilities include:
Welcome and assist patients during clinic visits and follow established consent and intake procedures in accordance with study protocols. Collaborate closely with the clinical research team, including the Principal Investigator (PI), to ensure regulatory requirements are followed, institutional research objectives are met, and ethical standards are maintained. Assist patients with completing study data collection surveys, including demographic information, health history, mental health screenings, and social determinants of health (SDoH) assessments. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in public health, health sciences, social sciences, or a related field, or equivalent training and experience This position is mainly on-site and requires on-site presence Must be able to travel to urban and rural sites and have access to dependable transportation Basic computer proficiency, including experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) Ability to learn electronic data capture or database systems Evidence with working on a team Experience with organizational and time-management skills Demonstrated ability to work in and foster an environment of respect, professionalism and civility with a population of faculty, staff, and students from all backgrounds and experiences, or a commitment to do so as a staff member at VCU. Preferred Qualifications Demonstrated interest in maternal health, reproductive health, or health equity, particularly related to underserved or rural populations Bilingual in English and Spanish Experience with data entry and data management in REDCap or other electronic data capture systems Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive patient information in accordance with research and privacy regulations. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a research team and follow study protocols and procedures This is a restricted position; continued employment is dependent on availability of funding. Position will remain open until filled, with a priority application date of April 15.
Salary Range:
Commensurate with experience starting at $45,000
