Job Description

This recruitment is open only to current City of Brentwood employees who have successfully completed at least six (6) months of the probationary period in their current position. The City of Brentwood is seeking a qualified, motivated Code Enforcement Supervisor who can lead with integrity and balance enforcement with public education. The Code Enforcement program in the City of Brentwood helps to ensure our neighborhoods remain safe, compliant and thriving. The Supervisor will be charged with leading, coordinating, training and participating in the work activities of our Community Enrichment program. We are looking for a strong leader, with good customer service skills and experience in responding to issues and interacting with the public in difficult and unusual situations. Education and Experience:
Any combination of training and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be: Equivalent to completion of an associate degree from an accredited college in business administration, planning, public administration, public policy, land management, urban studies, or a related field. Five (5) years of increasingly responsible code enforcement experience including one (1) year of lead responsibility.
Licenses and Certifications:
Possession of a valid California Driver's License and a satisfactory driving record must be maintained throughout employment. Possession of a valid Certified Code Enforcement Officer (CCEO) designation issued by the California Association of Code Enforcement Officers (CACEO), to be maintained throughout employment. Successful completion of PC832 ("citation authority class") within twelve (12) months of employment.

Eligible List :
All applicants that pass the examination process will be placed on the eligible list which is good for at least 6 months and may be extended up to an additional 18 months. This eligible list will be used by the City of Brentwood to fill all current and future openings in this classification as long as the list is active.
