Job Description S.E. Minor & Company is a well-established surveying, engineering, planning & permitting, and environmental firm headquartered in Greenwich, Connecticut. With more than 100 years of continuous practice, we serve a sophisticated client base across residential, commercial, institutional, and mixed-use development throughout Fairfield County and beyond. We are seeking an Environmental & Planning Associate I to join our growing Greenwich office. This role is well suited for an early-career professional looking to build a strong foundation in environmental permitting, land use, and municipal review processes within a multidisciplinary firm. Position Overview The Associate I will support environmental and planning efforts under the direction of senior staff and project managers. This position is structured to provide hands-on exposure to permitting workflows, regulatory coordination, and project execution, with increasing responsibility as experience and proficiency grow. Key Responsibilities Assist in the preparation of wetland, zoning, Planning & Zoning, and other permitting applications Support senior staff in compiling application materials, exhibits, and supporting documentation Attend regulatory and public meetings in support of project applications Assist with coordination and tracking of permits, approvals, and certifications Communicate with clients, municipal staff, and project team members as directed Conduct field visits and inspections as needed to support permitting and compliance Perform other related duties as assigned Qualifications Bachelor's degree or higher in Natural Sciences (Biology, Chemistry, Physics), Planning, Environmental, Architecture, Landscape Architecture, or a related field One (1) to three (3) years of relevant academic or professional experience preferred Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills Ability to follow direction, manage tasks, and work effectively in a team environment Interest in learning local and regional land-use planning frameworks and environmental regulations Proficiency in Microsoft Office Experience with Adobe Creative Suite and/or AutoCAD (or similar programs) is a plus Work Environment Full-time position, Monday through Friday Occasional evening or weekend work may be required to attend public meetings What We Offer Competitive compensation commensurate with experience Performance-based compensation growth tied to skill development and responsibility Comprehensive benefits package Direct mentorship and training from experienced planning, environmental, and engineering professionals Exposure to a wide range of land development and permitting projects Clear advancement path to Associate II and senior-level roles Long-term stability within a century-old, growing firm
