Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Transportation Planner with a strong background in multimodal transportation planning. This role will support projects involving bicycle and pedestrian planning, transit, transportation safety, multimodal corridors, grant funding, and preliminary engineering. The ideal candidate is a strategic problem-solver who enjoys working with communities, clients, engineers, and interdisciplinary teams to develop practical and innovative transportation solutions. Key Responsibilities Lead or support bicycle/pedestrian plans, transit studies, Vision Zero initiatives, safety plans, and multimodal corridor studies. Conduct transportation, network, safety, and spatial analyses using ArcGIS . Support preliminary engineering through conceptual layouts, cross-sections, cost estimates, and coordination with engineers. Develop grant applications and funding strategies, including programs such as SS4A, RAISE, and CMAQ . Facilitate public meetings, stakeholder engagement, workshops, and community outreach. Prepare clear reports, presentations, maps, and technical graphics. Collaborate with planners, engineers, designers, and external partners. Mentor junior staff and contribute to proposals and business development. Qualifications Master's degree in Urban Planning, Transportation Planning, Geography, or a related field. 5+ years of professional experience in transportation planning, consulting, or public-sector work. Experience with multimodal, active transportation, transit, corridor, or transportation safety projects. Knowledge of transportation funding programs and grant development. Experience with preliminary engineering deliverables is a plus. Required Skills Intermediate to advanced ArcGIS skills, including mapping, network analysis, and geospatial visualization. Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Cloud. Familiarity with tools such as SketchUp, Remix, or similar planning software is a plus. $95,000.00 - $105,000.00 per year
