Planning & Zoning Administrator

Overview Join our team as a Planning & Zoning Administrator, where you will play a pivotal role in shaping the development and growth of our community. This position offers the opportunity to lead zoning and land use initiatives, coordinate with developers, and ensure compliance with zoning regulations and local ordinances. Your expertise will help foster sustainable development and economic growth. We are seeking a motivated professional passionate about urban planning, project management, and community engagement. Duties Manage and oversee zoning regulations, land use policies, and urban planning initiatives to promote sustainable growth Review development proposals, site plans, zone change request, conditional use permits, and variance applications for compliance with zoning codes Handle clerical duties including but not limited to: ensuring that all forms and applications are submitted correctly, issuing permits properly, retaining all records, scheduling all meeting, preparing agendas and minutes for approval, advertising for public hearings, and compiling monthly activity reports Assist with Property Maintenance Code Enforcement Coordinate communication among architects, engineers, contractors, county officials, and community members Attend all Planning and Zoning Commission and Planning and Zoning Board of Adjustments meetings in an advisory capacity Communicate regularly with the Judge Executive, Fiscal Court, and County Department Heads (County Clerk, Public Works, and Emergency Management) Ensure that all plats, forms, and documents are properly recorded Complete annual continued education hours as prescribed by law Preferred Skills Education or professional training in Urban Planning Education or professional training in Public Administration Level I Building Inspection Certification Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, PermitLV, or comparable permitting software platforms Proficiency in and practical understanding of ArcGIS software and management systems

Pay:

$50,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
