Zoning Administrator/Land Use Planner - Hometown Planning

Job Description
Hometown Planning is seeking qualified applicants for dual-track zoning administration roles serving rural Minnesota communities, with openings available for one or two candidates: Assistant Zoning Administrator ($35-$38/hr): Focuses on core administrative support, reviewing permit applications for compliance, conducting ordinance research, drafting staff reports, handling public inquiries, performing site visits, and assisting with code enforcement and comprehensive planning. Designed as an entry point with direct advancement potential into community leadership. Requires occasional evening public meeting attendance. Senior Zoning Administrator/Planner ($38-$48/hr): Immediately assumes lead Zoning Administrator responsibilities for a portfolio of client communities. Manages client relationships, presents at public hearings, guides complex application reviews, drafts ordinance amendments, and facilitates comprehensive plan updates independently or in a supervisory capacity. Requires regular evening public meeting attendance. Positions offer flexible remote work with regional travel across Central and West-Central Minnesota.
