Job Description
Performs responsible and technical duties related to the Land Use Program. Conducts field inspections of work completed on properties for which building permits have been issued. Provides support to the Administrative Assistant. Work is performed with established guidelines and procedures but requires the use of independent judgement in addressing routine matters and determining appropriate actions within assigned responsibilities. Performs other duties as assigned. ~ Assists the general public with regulations, guidelines and qualifications for participating in the Land Use Program and assists appraisers, internal staff, and external customers with inquiries regarding property record cards, building permits, transfers, and splits. ~ Assists with gathering and processing information used to calculate rollback taxes for the Land Use Program. ~ Prepares and processes Land Use Applications and prepares information for the revalidation process of Land Use parcels. ~ Creates mail merge and prints documents for annual Land Use revalidation process. ~ Conducts field inspections to verify proper land use requirements are met and assists appraisers with field inspections for select permitted items. ~ Measures new construction, additions, special features, and yard improvements. ~ Collects Data to be added to the CAMA System. ~ Communicates with property owners and contractors in the field. ~ Adequate knowledge and ability to read building plans and blueprints. ~ Serves as a back up to the Administrative Assistant. ~ Answers phone calls and walk-in inquiries, directs calls to appropriate appraiser and assists the Administrative Assistant in maintaining office files of appraisal records, reports, correspondence, and miscellaneous information in an organized manner. ~ Maintains appointments, schedules, and issues reports as needed for appraisers during informal appeals. ~ Participates in staff meetings. ~ Operates a variety of office equipment and related software, including personal computers, word processors, and other information processing equipment.
