An Academic or Guidance Counselor provides guidance to students in elementary, middle and high schools to help them succeed academically and socially. Works with school teachers and administrators to address problems that affect student performance, and identifies resources for students and families. Helps high school students to plan academic course work and advises on the college search and application process.

Job Description
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's Degree Five years in either teaching, counseling, or providing behavioral interventions with diverse student populations within a K-12 district or school system Knowledge of the implementation of the Response to Intervention for academics, social emotional and behavior and the ability to communicate this process with staff Verbal & written communication skills in English and a demonstrated ability to read and comprehend written/graphic and oral instructionsREQUIREMENTS PRIOR TO START DATE
Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card Proof of immunity to rubeola (measles) and rubella (German measles), or proof of MMR immunization.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Valid Arizona Teaching Certificate Experience facilitating professional development Knowledge of Restorative Practices and Positive Behavior Intervention Strategies (PBIS)COMMENTS
