An Academic or Guidance Counselor provides guidance to students in elementary, middle and high schools to help them succeed academically and socially. Works with school teachers and administrators to address problems that affect student performance, and identifies resources for students and families. Helps high school students to plan academic course work and advises on the college search and application process.

Information specific to this position: This long-term substitute assignment will cover a school counselor who is on a leave of absence during the Fall 2026 semester at Wellington Middle-High School.

Work calendar days: 188
Duration of position: One Semester Only
Benefits include: PERA retirement
Will be paid the long-term substitute rate of $250.00/day The substitute must have a valid Special Service Provider (SSP) license or Temporary Educator Eligibility (TEE) Authorization.
