Join the YMCA team as an After School Counselor at North LaFayette Elementary School and make a positive impact on the lives of others. We are seeking After School Counselors who are available every Monday-Friday from 2pm-6pm after school is out.
Job Responsibilities:
Implement daily lesson/activity plans within established guidelines. Supervise children and all program activities. Make systematic observations and evaluations of each child. Maintain positive relationships through effective communication with parents. Attend YMCA Branch family nights, program activities, staff meetings, and training. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Must be 18 years of age or older. High school diploma or equivalent required; one year of college preferred. Previous experience working with elementary school-aged children in a group setting preferred. Previous experience working with diverse backgrounds preferred.
Physical Demands:
Ability to lead and participate in activities in indoor and outdoor settings. Ability to walk, stand, sit, kneel, bend, stoop, and lift up to 50 lbs. Ability to communicate with others verbally and in writing.
