This temporary position plays an important role in supporting students' social, emotional, behavioral, and academic growth while fostering a safe, inclusive, welcoming, and joyful school community. Position Responsibilities:
Student SupportProvide individual counseling check-ins and support for students social, emotional, behavioral, and academic needsBuild trusting relationships that help students feel safe, heard, supported, and valuedSupport students in developing coping strategies, emotional regulation, self-advocacy, and problem-solving skillsAssist students with peer relationships, school adjustment, and conflict resolutionSmall Group CounselingPlan and facilitate small group counseling sessions focused on: -Social skills development-Organization and study skills-Emotional regulation and coping strategies-Friendship skills and conflict resolution-Additional identified student needsTeach Social Emotional Learning (SEL) lessons across Grades PreK-3, including our therapeutic classroomCollaborate with teachers to support SEL implementation within classrooms and daily routinesProvide teachers with SEL resources, strategies, and classroom supportHelp promote a positive and inclusive school cultureCollaboration & CommunicationPartner closely with teachers, administrators, and support staff to identify and support student needsCommunicate regularly with parents and guardians through meetings, phone calls, and ongoing updatesParticipate in student support meetings and team-based problem-solving discussionsCollaborate with outside agencies and providers to coordinate services and supports for studentsStudent Support PlansParticipate in and support the implementation of IEPs and 504 PlansSupport accommodations and interventions aligned with student support plans and school expectationsAttend team meetings, student support meetings, and related service discussions
