Qualifications:
Minimum of a Masters Degree Current North Carolina counseling license Previous counseling experience with children is preferred
Skills:
Ability to plan, coordinate, and evaluate the effectiveness of student programs Highly organized and attention to detail Ability to multi-task giving priority to the most important duties Strong oral and written communication skills Friendly and able to interact professionally and positively with staff, students, parents, and community members Computer skills should include, at a minimum, keyboarding, email, databases,
Word, and Excel Duties and Responsibilities:
Follow all Board policies Maintain confidentiality of all student, parent, and staff information Establish the school counseling program and develop activities and resources to implement the program Coordinate counseling services for students Provide individual and group counseling services to meet the developmental, preventive, and remedial needs of students Consult and collaborate with parents, teachers, and other staff members to assist in meeting the needs of students Monitors student academic performance, behavior, and attendance and facilitates appropriate interventions Adhere to the ethical standards of the counseling profession Provides intervention strategies to teachers May serve as a 504 Coordinator or a member of an IEP team Coordinate the efforts of support services and outside agencies Follow procedures for suspected cases of child abuse or neglect Other duties, as assigned, by supervisor/administrator. Schedule and attend home visits. Ability to be mobile around the facilities for two buildings on one campus. Create and assist with implementation of Behavior Plans for SWD and Gen Ed students.
