Job Description

Doral Academy of North Carolina is seeking a dedicated and energetic After-School Counselor to support students in a structured, engaging, and safe after-school program. The ideal candidate will supervise students, facilitate activities, and ensure a positive environment that aligns with the school's mission and values.
Job Type:
Part-time Pay:
$16.20 per hour
Work Hours:
Between 3:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.
Specific Roles and Responsibilities:
Core Instructional Responsibilities Supervise and ensure the safety and wellbeing of students at all times. Plan and facilitate age-appropriate activities, including academic support, recreational games, and enrichment opportunities. Provide guidance and support to students, helping them develop social skills and positive behaviors. Assist students with homework and academic enrichment activities. Maintain a structured and engaging after-school environment. Take attendance daily and ensure students are accounted for at all times. Provide snacks to students and ensure all food-related activities follow safety and cleanliness guidelines. Core Professional Responsibilities Report any behavioral incidents, accidents, or injuries to the front office to ensure proper communication with parents. Work collaboratively with the after-school program team. Attend staff meetings and professional development as required. Adhere to all child abuse reporting requirements/laws.
Required Qualifications:
Prospective North Carolina assistant teachers must have at least a high school diploma or GED. Preferably, they will also have work or volunteer experience working with children.
