Position Overview:
The Hawbridge School, a Title I public charter school committed to place-based learning, restorative practices, inclusion, and mutual respect, is seeking an Upper School Counselor for the 2026-2027 school year. This
position supports students in grades
7-12 through individual counseling, small group interventions, academic planning, college and career readiness, and social-emotional support. The ideal candidate is passionate about building meaningful relationships
with students and families, collaborating with colleagues, and fostering a school culture where all students feel seen, valued, and empowered to succeed.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide individual and small-group counseling services to support students' academic, social-emotional, and behavioral growth.
Meet regularly with students and families to support academic achievement, college and career planning, and post-secondary readiness. Plan and facilitate college- and career-readiness programs, including hosting
college admissions representatives,career exploration events, and informational sessions for students and families.
Develop, maintain, and manage student class schedules, including course selection, schedule adjustments, monitoring graduation requirements, and academic pathway planning to ensure students remain on track for
graduation.
Coordinate and lead new student and beginning-of-year orientation programs, helping students and families successfully transition into the school community.
Facilitate and support restorative circles, conferences, and conversations to strengthen relationships and address conflict.
Implement targeted individual and group interventions to promote student success and well-being.
Follow established protocols for crisis intervention, risk assessment, and student support.
Utilize school-wide data to design, implement, and evaluate interventions that address achievement and opportunity gaps.
Serve as the school's 504 Coordinator, including facilitating meetings, maintaining compliance, and monitoring student accommodations.
Maintain accurate student records, assessments, and documentation through Infinite Campus and other required systems.
Collaborate closely with the Student Services Team, teachers, administrators, families, and community partners to support student success.
Assist with school events and activities, including field trips, parent-teacher conferences, graduation, family meetings, and other special programs.
Actively contribute to the development and implementation of a comprehensive school counseling program.
Perform other duties as assigned.
