Aug 26, 2026 Job Description 09/01/2026- To on or around 01/04/2027 The School Counselor will be responsible for the successful completion of the following tasks:
- Communicate regularly with students on their caseload surrounding issues of academic success, physical/ social-emotional health, goal setting, post graduate planning, student safety/welfare and skill development both in and out of the classroom.
- Be an active part of the School Counseling team and specifically collaborate with the 6-8 counseling department in developing programming and activities relevant to the grade band's needs.
- Work collaboratively with other teachers to ensure that all students are successfully progressing through the program, that parents/students have a central point of contact, and that questions and concerns are answered and addressed.
- Support students in instances of child welfare/ mental health concerns and monitor these situations early and often.
- Assist students in applications to non-MassCA school settings.
- Ensure that students on IEP and 504 plans are receiving any required school-counseling services.
- Develop and implement virtual methods of creating and maintaining a "school community";
- Other duties as assigned.
