Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a Career Services Advisor for a vocational college in Huntington Park, CA. This role is ideal for a student-focused career services, job placement, recruitment, or vocational education professional who is passionate about helping students and alumni transition successfully into meaningful employment. The Career Services Advisor will support a mission-driven education environment serving first-generation college students, working adults, career changers, and recent high school graduates. This is a highly visible role that connects students, graduates, faculty, employers, and campus leadership to create strong career pathways and job placement outcomes. This opportunity offers the chance to work in a supportive, team-oriented campus culture where staff members are committed to student success, personal growth, professional respect, and community impact. The ideal candidate will enjoy relationship-building, coaching students, developing employer partnerships, and contributing to a positive campus experience where students feel genuinely supported. Key Responsibilities Provide one-on-one career counseling to students and alumni, including career planning, goal setting, resume writing, cover letter support, interview preparation, and job search strategy. Build and maintain employer relationships to develop job leads, externship opportunities, internship connections, campus recruitment activity, and graduate placement pipelines. Organize and support career fairs, workshops, networking events, mock interviews, employer visits, and other professional development programs. Track, manage, and report student and graduate employment outcomes, job placement activity, employer engagement, and career services program effectiveness. Collaborate with faculty, academic advisors, registrars, campus leadership, alumni, and external organizations to strengthen student career readiness and placement opportunities. Develop and update career resources, promote career services participation, support compliance with institutional standards, and assist with department initiatives as assigned.
Compensation and Benefits Pay range:
$25.00 to $35.00 per hour.
