Job Description

Harbor Interfaith Services (HIS) is a non-profit organization based in San Pedro, with a mission to provide food, shelter, transitional housing, childcare, and support services to the homeless and working poor in the South Bay area of Los Angeles, Service Planning Area (SPA) 8. Harbor Interfaith Services is looking to add a full-time Faith Based Regional Coordinator (FBRC) to our team. The Faith Based Regional Coordinator will facilitate SPA-wide faith collaboration with the faith community. This position is full-time with a set schedule of 8:30am to 5:30pm Monday through Friday.
Key responsibilities:
  • The FBRC supports coordination and engagement with the Faith Collaborative to End Homelessness (FCEH) Service Planning Area (SPA) lead and faith-based organizations within the assigned SPA, supporting regional coordination efforts for the purpose of reducing homelessness and supporting processes to permanent housing.
  • The FBRC build and maintain relationships with the Faith Collaborative to End Homelessness (FCEH) and faith-based organizations.
  • The FBRC supports alignment between FCEH, faith-based organizations and Coordinated Entry System (CES).
  • The FBRC facilitates collaboration between faith-based organizations, community partners, and homelessness service providers.
  • The FBRC conducts outreach and engages multifaith religious denominations to ensure a diverse network of faith-based organizations.
  • The FBRC build and actively maintain collaborative relationships with faith-based organizations to encourage their involvement in regional homelessness response activities.
  • The FBRC organizes and facilitates monthly faith-based coordination convenings within SPA 8.
  • The FBRC conducts outreach to faith-based organizations and recruits Vision Allies.
  • The FBRC will secure approximately ten (10) new Vision Allies each month through outreach to faith-based organizations.
  • Maintain engagement with the Vision Allies and support participation in homelessness response activities.
  • Provide Regional coordination updates.
  • Lead two (2) capacity-building workshops per year for faith-based organizations within SPA 8.
  • Support outreach and coordination activities related to the annual County Faith Summit.
  • Attending staff meetings and case conferences as required and completing other duties as assigned. We would like to speak with you if:
  • You have a Bachelor's degree, or 4 years of equivalent social services experience.
  • You have experience providing faith collaboration, preferably in the South Bay area.
  • You have a background in homeless services.
  • You have the ability to listen with sensitivity to others' feelings, needs, and points of view.
  • You have the ability to demonstrate tact and courtesy while projecting positivity.
  • You are familiar with the Harm Reduction and Housing First models of service delivery.
  • Experience with databases including CHAMP and HMIS
  • You have a valid California driver's license and adequate auto insurance.
  • You have a clean driving record and adequate auto insurance.

Pay:
$50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
