Full Job Description SUMMARY:
The Employment Training Specialist (ETS) serves as the critical link for the Sacramento Works Job Center System/America's Job Centers (SWJCS/AJCs). The ETS performs a variety of duties, including reviewing files and case notes to ensure accuracy, and compliance with SETA regulations. The position will work with the Employment Site Supervisor, Executive Director, other ETS/OJT, Out of School Youth Case Managers and other SETA staff, to ensure client services are appropriately documented, employer information is appropriately documented, that they meet quality assurance standards and disbursements are timely. Coordinate client referrals for supportive services for further employment resources and work with the case management team.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
Follow the One-Stop System customer flow Develop workshops to assist customers in enhancing skills that help them attain employment Work in coordination with partners to outreach for participants, employers, and other supportive services. Work in coordination with La Familia Training Center Staff, SETA Liaison, Department of Human Assistance and other SWCC/AJCs to recruit, register and enroll participants Match participants with employer and holds job fairs and other employment activities Provide Case Management services and maintain file documentation per SETA requirements. Conduct follow-up for 1 year after for clients enrolled in Individualized services Resolve various questions and/or conflicts that may arise during job search and retention. Enter required information/date/case notes into the Sacramento Works Virtual One Stop System and maintain participant files Attend staff meetings and training as required Assist with Employment Orientations. Perform other duties as assigned
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
B.A. or equivalent in Business Administration or related field preferred. Minimum of one-year experience in similar position
QUALIFICATIONS
Have strong computer and E-mail communication skills and can adapt to new databases Demonstrate strong organization, planning, and prioritizing abilities Experience working with culturally diverse populations in the public and private sector Highly motivated, self-directed, and customer service oriented Valid California Driver's License and driving record & current proof of personal auto insurance. Maintain a professional demeanor at all times Understand and carry out oral and written instructions Bilingual in English/Spanish is preferred Cultural awareness regarding race, ability, sexual orientation, gender identity and other social identities, with an existing ability to communicate and collaborate with people across lines of difference with respect and dignity. Must provide linguistically and culturally sensitive care to promote the reduction of cultural barriers to all the community without bias.
