Job Summary:
Our Supported Employment Job Coach provides training and supervision for developmentally disabled adults in our Supported Employment Program. The Job Coach acts as a liaison between community-based employers, specific individuals receiving services, and necessary Mountain Valley staff. The Job Coach assists in developing, implementing, and monitoring client programming and in monitoring and responding to the client's job satisfaction.
Pay Rate:
$23.25-27/hr based on relevant experience

MVDS supports adults and children in Eagle, Garfield, Lake and Pitkin counties with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD). Our work provides life span services for these individuals, their parents and family members, guardians, colleagues at work, neighbors, and friends to promote independence, quality of life, and rights protection. We take pride in our person-centered care and deep commitment to supporting persons with developmental disabilities. Every day employees strive to help clients live, learn, & work as independently as possible.
Responsibilities:
Mentor and support individuals in achieving their personal goals and promoting independence. Treat clients with respect and dignity. With Employment Coordinator's assistance, develop task analysis on all parts of job as needed. Provide hands-on training and contact with clients at the job site and be able to facilitate training as needed. Maintain an awareness of problem areas during training and report these to the Employment Coordinator for assistance as needed, i.e. safety issues, barriers or accessibility problems, revision of task analysis. Act as a role model for the client at the work site. Arrange transportation to and from work site for clients. Assist clients in developing and maintaining independent transportation skills necessary for work. Communicate client concerns to Employment Coordinator and other appropriate staff and families. Track and submit data to CIE Program Coordinator for reports for funding, monitoring, etc. Implement goals and keep accurate documentation of goal progress and notify appropriate staff of any goal changes. Maintain regular contact with employers to assure the placement site is successful for the client and the employer. Assure that the quality and quantity of work performed meets the employer's needs. See:
Previous experience in childcare, working with people with developmental disabilities, senior care, patient care, or direct support Knowledge of first aid, medications, and basic medical procedures CNA certification or intertest in becoming CNA certified
We Require:
The ability to provide compassionate and person-centered care to individuals with diverse needs A High School GED or Diploma Ability to attend and pass a QMAP (Qualified Medication Administration Person) class and test as offered by MVDS A valid Colorado Drivers License and reliable transportation A Criminal and Motor Vehicle record which meets company standards A TB test within the first week of employment (paid for by us) Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team Ability to adapt to changing situations and handle challenging behaviors with patience and empathy Ability to work a flexible range of shift times if needed
Physical Demands:
Requires concentrated visual and auditory attention; requires Frequent standing and walking; lifting and transferring clients on a as needed basis, carrying, reaching, pushing, and pulling Ability to work in environments that could include changes in temperature/humidity, dust, odors, noise, etc. Ability to work with individuals with cognitive disabilities, a variety of illnesses, and medical conditions; working indoors, outdoors, and in vehicles; works around and with others, and alone; may have to walk on slippery and /or uneven walking surfaces Expected to assist individuals receiving services with entering and exiting the vehicle, toileting, cleaning, bathing, cooking and other basic life skills.
