Why This Role Is Different This is not a traditional paraprofessional position. As an Intervention Specialist, you are an active member of a multidisciplinary team dedicated to helping students develop critical communication, behavioral, social-emotional, academic, and independent living skills.

You will:

Implement individualized supports aligned to student IEP goals Help students develop communication, self-advocacy, self-regulation, and social skills Support the use of AAC and assistive technology systems Implement positive behavioral support strategies and Behavior Intervention Plans Collect student data to guide instructional decisions Facilitate participation in classroom, school, community, and vocational learning experiences Collaborate with teachers, therapists, behavior specialists, nurses, and families Create engaging, structured environments that promote success and independence Support students with personal care, mobility, health, and safety needs as required Participate in ongoing training to strengthen your skills and expertise This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy building meaningful relationships, solving problems creatively, working collaboratively, and celebrating student growth every day. Qualifications Candidates must meet one of the following requirements: Associate's Degree, completion of at least 60 college credits, or Bachelor's Degree; OR High School Diploma and successful completion of the ParaPro Assessment. In addition, successful candidates will demonstrate: A commitment to helping students with autism and developmental disabilities succeed Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills The ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team Professionalism, flexibility, and a willingness to learn Commitment to maintaining student confidentiality and ethical practice Physical Requirements Ability to actively support students throughout school and community environments Ability to lift up to 50 pounds when necessary Ability to complete required competency-based and crisis intervention training Ability to support students with physical management and personal care needs as needed Join a Team That Changes Lives Empower communication.
