Job Description
City Year seeks AmeriCorps Members to serve full-time in public schools, supporting students' academic and social-emotional growth. In this education-focused role, you'll provide tutoring, mentor students, assist in classrooms, and lead small-group interventions. You'll collaborate with school staff and a diverse team to create a positive learning environment. City Year offers comprehensive training, leadership development, and exposure to education and youth development careers in a mission-driven, inclusive culture dedicated to advancing educational equity. Responsibilities Provide in-class and after-school academic support to students Build positive, mentoring relationships with students to foster engagement Support teachers with classroom activities and small-group instruction Track and report student progress using established tools and systems Collaborate with a diverse Ameri Corps team and school staff Participate in ongoing training, coaching, and professional development Engage families and community partners in school-based initiatives Required Skills Student support Classroom assistance Tutoring (math/reading) Youth mentorship Data entry & progress tracking Behavior management Team collaboration Community outreach Time management Basic computer skills (Google/Microsoft)
