Location Statesboro Campus, Statesboro, GA Department Information Men's Basketball Job Summary The Director of Player Development is responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing comprehensive student-athlete development initiatives that promote personal growth, leadership, life skills, and competitive excellence. Working closely with the coaching staff and athletics support personnel, this position develops individualized player development plans that enhance each student-athlete's success both on and off the field. The Director serves as a trusted mentor, supports student-athlete transitions, utilizes performance data and film analysis to reinforce development, and assists with recruiting operations. Temporary employees are employed according to departmental need and the length of time will vary by workload and may not exceed 1300 hours worked in a 12-consecutive month period. Responsibilities Design and implement individualized development plans for student-athletes in collaboration with the coaching staff Build and maintain strong relationships with student-athletes, coaching staff, athletics staff, campus partners, and other internal and external stakeholders Develop and implement programming that supports leadership development, personal growth, life skills, and preparation for success beyond athletics Assist the coaching staff with special projects and perform other duties as assigned Maintain current recruiting needs assessments, positional priorities, prospect evaluations, and recruiting boards to ensure accurate and strategic recruiting efforts Organize and manage recruiting schedules, visits, and recruiting databases to support the coaching staff throughout the recruiting process Assist with the onboarding and transition of incoming student-athletes, including freshmen, transfer students, and other new additions to the program Support the personal, leadership, academic, and overall development of student athletes throughout their collegiate experience Collaborate with coaching staff and support personnel to integrate film, performance data, and other evaluation tools into player development initiatives Provide individualized mentorship and guidance to student-athletes to promote accountability, maturity, confidence, resilience, and successful adjustment to the demands of a Division I athletics program Utilize film review, performance feedback, and available analytics to support individualized player development plans and reinforce areas of growth for student athletes Required Qualifications Educational Requirements Bachelor's Degree Required Experience Worked or played sports Proposed Salary $25,000 This is an exempt position paid on a monthly basis.
