The Coach helps students develop the skills, strategies, and resources needed to persist, succeed, and complete their college goals. This position provides individual and small-group coaching focused on college success, executive functioning, academic engagement, and the core SSP program pillars. The Coach also provides case management, referrals, progress monitoring, and ongoing student support. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Build supportive, trusting relationships with a diverse student population through individualized and small-group coaching. Guide students in setting goals, developing action plans, and making progress toward college completion. Provide coaching and support related to executive functioning, time management, organization, study skills, academic engagement, and other college success strategies. Review course requirements and syllabi with students and assist with planning for successful course completion. Connect students with appropriate campus resources, advisors, faculty, and support services. Maintain an assigned caseload and monitor student progress toward SSP goals. Maintain accurate and confidential student records, including coaching notes, referrals, progress updates, and outcomes. Develop and utilize appropriate learning materials, resources, and technology to support student learning and engagement. Collaborate with faculty, staff, and campus partners to coordinate student support. Participate in department meetings, training, and professional development activities. Prepare reports and evaluations as requested. Maintain consistent communication with the Dean and other supervisory staff. Follow all Rockford University and SSP policies, procedures, and expectations. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor's degree required; master's degree preferred. Equivalent relevant experience, certification, or demonstrated professional experience may be considered. Two or more years of teaching, coaching, advising, student support, or related experience preferred. Current teaching licensure preferred. Strong verbal, written, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Ability to work independently, take initiative, and collaborate effectively as part of a team. Knowledge of student success, retention, persistence, and college completion practices. Familiarity with higher education student recruitment, orientation, access, transition, retention, and completion. Ability to effectively use technology to support student engagement and learning. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with students from diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and personal backgrounds. Strong commitment to student success and a student-centered approach. Must successfully complete a criminal background verification.
