The Job Placement & Retention Specialist provides employment-focused services including participant intake, assessment, job readiness training, career coaching, resume assistance, interview preparation, job placement, and retention support. This position develops relationships with employers and community partners, coordinates hiring events and outreach activities, identifies employment opportunities, and assists participants in overcoming barriers to employment. The Job Placement & Retention Specialist maintains accurate documentation, supports reporting requirements, and promotes successful employment outcomes in accordance with agency, CARF, and funding requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education and/or
Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent is required. Post-secondary education in Human Services, Business, Marketing, Workforce Development, Counseling, Education, or a related field is preferred. One (1) to two (2) years of experience in workforce development, employment services, customer service, recruiting, sales, marketing, job placement, case management, or social services is preferred. An equivalent combination of education, training, and progressively responsible experience demonstrating the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for the position may be considered. Experience working with individuals facing barriers to employment is preferred.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Valid driver's license required. Must have reliable transportation or otherwise be able to travel to employer, community partner, and participant locations as required. CPR/First Aid certification preferred or must be obtained within one (1) year of hire, if required by program.
Screenings:
Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background check, driver record check, and any additional screenings required by program funding or contract requirements.
