A Career Counselor works with adults of all ages to plan career choices and access the education and training needed to support a career. Gives skills assessment and aptitude tests to clients. Provides job search assistance or training for general workplace skills. Provides referrals for workplace literacy, academic or job training programs, or direct job referrals.

Associates degree required. Working knowledge of instruction software preferred (i.e. Xello, Microsoft Office, Google Suite, Synergy, CTEIS, etc.) Extensive working knowledge of PC applications, computer hardware, and internet- based research/applications. Experience working with Career Education, Career Fairs, Job Shadow opportunities, and Educational Development Plans (EDP's). Broad based understanding of K-12 curriculum Excellent oral and written communication skills required Must exhibit qualities of genuine concern for students. Strong organizational skills. Proven ability to develop partnerships with business, local service organizations, and post-secondary institutions. Experience facilitating technology training preferred. Must meet other requirements as deemed appropriate by the Mt. Morris Board of Education.
