Position Description:
Culver-Stockton College in Canton, Missouri invitesapplications for an enthusiastic career development professional to lead and direct the C-SC career education program. The Director ofCareer and Internship Services will demonstrate career advising expertise in work with both individual and groups regarding the job searchprocess, career planning, job search strategies, résumé development, internships, career aptitude, professionalism, image coaching andbranding, networking, and assessing individual skills, aptitudes and values. This position will also foster partnerships with local,national and international employers in order to identify employment and pre-professional development opportunities for students and alumniand advise students on issues of major and career choice as well as other duties to advance the mission and goals of Culver-StocktonCollege.
Responsibilities:
  • Provide vision and direct leadership for all functions of the C-SC career educationprogram.
  • Oversee all functions of the college internship program through partnerships with employers and faculty.
  • Provide career advising expertise in work with both individual and groups regarding the job search process.
  • Maintain a high levelof knowledge of the current job climate to provide competitive advantages in job searches.
  • Coordinate workshops, classroompresentations, and seminars for students, staff and faculty concerning career development, career education, and internships in addition tothe coordination of on-campus recruitment efforts.
  • Plan and coordinate Career Fair, Graduate Fair, Career Closet & Men's andWomen's Clothing Events.
  • Coordinate and accompany student travel to graduate fairs specific to pre-professional programs (e.
g.

Law, Medicine).
  • Foster partnerships with local, national and international employers in order to identify employment andpre-professional development opportunities for students and alumni.
  • Track student and graduate outcomes.
  • Providetraining and support for faculty and employers regarding best practices for working with interns.
  • Actively promote best practicesin experiential education for students completing internship experiences and ongoing training and support of faculty supervisors of interns.
  • Serve as academic advisor (20+ students annually) in various disciplines.
  • Provide career guidance for undecided majorsat admissions events.
  • Assist advancement colleagues in developing relationships with employers and community organizations.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to and knowledge of ethical practices relevant to work in career education.
  • Serve on campuscommittees and task groups as appropriate to position responsibilities.
Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor's Degree in arelated field is required, Master's Degree preferred.
  • 3 - 5 years work experience in higher education or related field.
  • Knowledge of the career development role, with proficiency in technological applications and career assessment instruments.
  • Experience working with diverse individuals and groups.
  • Excellent writing, organization, and public speaking skills.
  • Knowledge and understanding of experiential education.
  • PC skills including, but not limited to, word processing and spreadsheets,knowledge of Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Publisher, Jenzabar, Internet and e-mail.
  • Valid driver's license required.
