Employer Relations Specialist - PT

Job Description

This position meets student and community needs by facilitating the connection of students to employer information and open positions. This position is also a liaison to business partners and agencies to advocate and assist students with these connections. 1. Manages Work-It Wednesdays tabling program and supports other on campus recruiting and other career connection events 2. Critically reviews potential employers, recruiters, and positions, determining eligibility for online job postings and on-campus recruiting. 3. Responds to employer inquiries, provides outreach to employers, participates in virtual and in-person employer meetings 4. Provides a variety of general and technical information to students, staff, and employer partners regarding employer engagement and employment connection services. 5. Assists with maintaining an effective process for getting employment information to students through the online job board and other departmental communication channels. 6. Assists departmental initiatives through employer and graduate outreach, front-desk coverage, event support and coordination, marketing and communication of employment opportunities, and other operational activities as needed. 7. Performs other duties as assigned. 8. Other duties as assigned. Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution, two years of work experience related to employer hiring practices, establishing partnerships and/or recruiting

  • Ability to coordinate events, communications, and employer engagement activities.
  • Knowledge of the Handshake Job Board platform
  • Interpersonal skills and ability to build and foster relationships
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Ability to analyzes data and think strategically
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of information
  • Computer proficiency particularly with Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to work with a diverse student population
  • Knowledge of skills-based hiring methodology
  • Familiarity with Central Piedmont's program and course offerings
