Job Description

Position:
Group Leader Scope of Position:
The Group Leader will be responsible for providing academic services to meet and identify the needs of participants. The Group Leader is responsible for implementing the goals of the contract and providing an interactive learning environment. Under the direction of the Director and Program Coordinator Assistant, the Group Leader is responsible for developing, instructing, and coordinating opportunities with educational, primary schools, training institutions, and other nonprofit service agencies. The Group Leader will also be responsible for working closely and directing support staff as program volunteers during classroom activities. The Group Leader will be responsible for developing a lesson plan and implementing academic-based activities based on student needs. This is a Part-Time position running until June 2026. The schedule is Monday through Friday 2pm-6pm, non-negotiable.
Requirements:
Minimum of High School Diploma. Two years' direct supervision with support teaching personnel is a plus. NYS DOH fingerprinting requirements. Computer proficiency. Physical/TB test per OST Medical requirements. Knowledge of New York State Education local requirements & IEP. Require to participate in DOH mandated reporting. Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills. Experience in curriculum/lesson plan development, classroom management, and facilitating advisory youth councils required. Must attend monthly meetings/training outside of regular program hours. Must fulfill 15 hours of mandatory training hours each year.
