A premier treatment provider, Minerva Park Behavioral Health specializes in providing an approach to treatment that seeks to heal the individual in all aspects of his or her addiction. $20 - 24 per hour Peer Support Specialist /Recovery Specialist Job Responsibilities:
- Provide support to others in recovery from a substance use disorder.
- Serve as a role model, mentor, advocate, and motivator to recovering individuals to help prevent relapse and promote long-term recovery.
- Assist individuals with identifying their personal interests, goals, strengths, and weaknesses regarding recovery and promote self-advocacy by assisting individuals in expressing their voice, needs, goals, and objectives.
- Demonstrate an ability to share personal recovery experiences within ethical and professional boundaries and to develop authentic peer-to-peer relationships as outlined in standard practices as identified by OhioMHAS, Ohio Department of Medicaid, and CARF
- Promote community membership, development, and maintenance of natural support.
- Complete documentation using the electronic medical record.
- Participate in staff meetings, in-service training, and supervision.
- Maintains strict confidentiality.
- Other duties as needed.
Recovery Specialist Qualifications/Skills:
- Peer Recovery Support certification
- 1 year of relevant experience in a substance abuse or similar setting required.
- Exceptional display of verbal and written communication.
- Ability to successfully pass a background check and drug screen.
- Valid driver's license
- HS Diploma/GED or equivalent
