Description Summary of Position:
Youth Advocate Programs, Inc. is invested in the belief of self-determination and positive approaches for all individuals that we serve in our Developmental Disability Programs. We follow the concepts set by the Office of Developmental Programs in Pa. that defines Everyday Lives as the person with a disability having the support of the families and friends; individual decides how to live their lives; what supports they need; and how they want to spend their money in their individual budgets, reviewing employment skills, updating resumes, job seeking, on the job, job shadowing. Employment Specialist will provide one on one direct services with individual Youth clients in the Huntingdon Area Assist participants to obtain and maintain community-based, competitive, independent employment. Assist participants with the employment application and interview process; job development and training Provide on-going observation and supervision for the participant on the job site. Obtain knowledge of individual(s) supported desired outcomes and work to ensure they are integrated into daily activities. Provide clear, accurate and timely records and documentation (i.e. goal documentation, progress notes, and program plan
Qualifications/Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED and two year experience paid or volunteer, working with young adults and/or adults. Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and automobile insurance with bodily injury liability limits of $100,000 per person and $300,000 per accident. This is a Part Time, as needed position until client need picks up. Additional Details
