$74,156-$97,847 depending on experience and education

Purpose Statement:

The job of Work Based Learning Coordinator was established for the purpose(s) of providing a means of clear communication between Spartanburg County School District Two (D2) staff, students and the business community. This position works to develop relationships and partnerships with local employers so that D2 students, through the Classroom to Career program; are empowered with work force development strategies, to include internships and youth apprenticeships.

Responsible to:

Works with: Principals Director of Swofford Career Center School Career Development Facilitators School Counselors Owners, Managers, Human Resource Departments, and others involved with Spartanburg County businesses County Career Facilitator and One Spartanburg Talent Acquisition personnel D2

Students Experience:

Extensive and varied business and/or advanced manufacturing experiences are preferred. Additionally, K12 Education, CATE Education, coaching or other types of youth experiences are an advantage to selection. Essential Functions Plans, directs and monitors the implementation and evaluation of the Classroom to Career program and initiatives by maintaining and updating the Classroom to Career program materials Regularly visits business partners and conducts student site visits throughout the year Establishes partnerships with employers to support the Classroom to Career program Coordinates (with Career Development Facilitators) District-wide employment skills curriculum and assists in the facilitation of employment skills workshops to include resume and portfolio construction Facilitates work-based learning opportunities such as internships, apprenticeships, job shadowing, on-site student tours, career fairs, industry panels, and school based career information sessions Provide educators with professional development opportunities to enhance their understanding of industry trends, teaching methodologies, and workforce development strategies Pursues financial investment opportunities and program support within the relevant business community Collaborates with D2 district staff to appropriately market the Classroom to Career program and the Swofford Career Center (SCC) Analyzes data for the Classroom to Career program and determines effectiveness to improve program goals Works with principals, school counselors, school career specialists, business owners and managers, human resource departments, and the director of SCC Supports city/town/county/chamber economic development personnel for input on current employment needs and trends

Prepares reports and presentations to communicate the impact of the Classroom to Career program to stakeholders Qualifications Bachelor's degree in education, business administration, economics, or a related field Experience in workforce development, education administration, or a related field Experience in manufacturing is preferred Knowledge of k-12 education systems, curriculum development, and the South Carolina career pathways
