Job Description

NON-EXEMPT GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
To effectively extend customer service from the Mission Mobile to the public through training and job placement assistance. To encourage and promote a mutual associate/customer relationship which enhances the profitability of Goodwill Industries. To coordinate with the Career Development Services Staff to establish and implement appropriate services for the clientele of Goodwill Industries. To establish professional relationships with participants, worksites, referring agencies, and associates to positively implement Goodwill's Mission in which goals and objectives can be met in the community Provide career navigation services to participants to include career preparation workshops, assessments, individual employment plans. Provide comprehensive employment and retention support services to job seekers. Develop and maintain relationships with employers, community organizations, internal stakeholders, to identify job and training opportunities. Maintains all documentation on clients including up-to-date case notes, updating any required databases, and completing required reports. To uphold Goodwill's CARES+ values.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
1. To provide assistance to Mission Mobile staff in the day-to-day operations of Mission Mobile 2. To assist Mobile staff with events, recording of mobile guests, and the monthly calendar 3. To provide Mission Mobile users information and guidance on what service areas, complying with all motor vehicle codes and regulations, and schedule routine vehicle maintenance 4. To drive to destination for events and return mobile to designated parking place. 5. To work with businesses to identify job openings, alternative work activities, training initiatives, and scoping locations for mobile to park for events 6. To conduct searches for suitable job openings for participants, comparing participant qualifications with employer's requirements 7. To provide counseling, skill-based training, work adjustment, and career guidance skills. 8. To work with eligible participants in developing and attaining desired goals by establishing goals, reviewing and monitoring progress, and then recording results. 9. To be knowledgeable of organizational practices, policies and procedures, and compliance with the same. 10. To complete timely and accurate weekly and/or monthly reports. 11. To document all activities through narrative, statistical and financial reporting where necessary 12. To manage participant files and provide accurate documentation for services, including progress and program completions and exit notes into CWD internal/external software. 13. To ensure participant records reflect the following in a timely manner: services provided (with backup documentation as needed), incentives awarded, progress of obtaining goals, necessary signatures and addressing barriers. 14. To facilitate and teach classes/workshops that enhances employability and work skills. 15. To provide excellent customer service to both internal and external individuals 16. To assist participants with job referrals and job placement, including follow-up and retention services. 17. To develop and foster relationships with employers in order to find viable job opportunities, apprenticeships and/or work based learning opportunities for participants that align with strategic plans and objectives. 18. To travel as needed to meet the day-to-day activities for all participant services. 19. To maintain confidentiality of all records and files concerning the position and ensure HIPAA compliance. 20. To keep files safe and secure in designated areas. 21. To assist in following through with program evaluation and accountability. 22. To gain the knowledge, understanding, and keep in compliance with Safety policies and procedures. 23. To facilitate the gathering of participant, business, and referral agencies satisfaction through surveys. 24. To act as a liaison between Goodwill Industries and referral sources, such as Vocational Rehabilitation, Department of Disabilities and Special Needs, Department of Social Services, SHARE, United Way, Department of Employment and Workforce, WIOA, etc. 25. To provide coverage of Career Centers as determined by various staffing needs. 26. To perform all other duties as may be assigned.
Education:
Associate's Degree in field of Human Services, Education, Liberal Arts preferred; or High School Diploma and 5 years' experience in a related field; or a combination of related experience and education.
Work Experience:
Prior experience in Human Services, Workforce Development, Recruiting/Staffing, and/or Customer Service.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Internet. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to manage multiple assignments and tasks, set priorities, and adapt to changing conditions and work assignments in a fast-paced work environment. Multi-cultural sensitivity - demonstrate a sensitivity and awareness of diversities in people and cultures. Knowledge of community, educational and vocational resources. Ability to build rapport and work as a team, within the Career Development Services department, the Goodwill organization as a whole, and with outside partner agencies. Have had no criminal driver related convictions in the previous 8 years. Knowledge of principles and practices of safe driving based on laws and regulations for a non-CDL vehicles. Must have a valid South Carolina Driver's License with limited points, a safe driving record is required and experience driving larger vehicles preferred. Driver safety awareness training preferred. Upon hire, will complete Coaching the Van driving course and approved Defensive Driving course.
Physical Requirements:
Daily requirements may include climbing, balancing, reaching, talking, hearing, seeing, standing, stooping, kneeling, handling, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling. May be exposed to dust and odors. May be required to do limited work outdoors.
Safety & Security:
Responsible for following all safety, and security procedures as directed by Goodwill policy. Report all accidents, however slight, to your supervisor immediately. Never leave the premises without reporting any accident that occurred during your working time. If medical treatment is needed during your non-work hours, the supervisor should be contacted. Goodwill strives to have a safe, secure, and ethical work environment. Goodwill's expectation from each associate is to refrain from: 1) unsafe work practices; 2) involvement in unethical situations; 3) dishonest/fraudulent work behaviors; or, 4) other behavior which would damage the organization's good standing in the community. If a Goodwill associate observes or has the knowledge of unsafe, unethical, dishonest, or fraudulent work practices, the associate should report it immediately to his/her supervisor, another member of management, or contact the CALL Hotline at 1-888-475-8272.
Work Hours and Locations:
8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Monday - Friday, or whatever hours are required to meet the professional requirements of the job. Lexington and Haywood are considered the Mission Mobile home office locations. Mileage reimbursement will start after reaching these destinations.
Work Attire:
Casual business attire; however, professional business attire when appropriate. Dress is to be reflective of Goodwill's positive image in the community. Each associate is expected to present a fashionable, neat, and clean appearance at all times
