At SERCO, we are committed to empowering individuals through workforce development and community services. We are seeking a dedicated and community-focused Business Services Representative to serve as a critical link between local employers and our SERCO-operated Workforce Centers.

Job Summary:

The Business Services Representative (BSR) plays a key role in connecting employers with qualified job seekers. This position focuses on promoting Workforce Center services to local businesses, coordinating hiring events, and ensuring successful job placements for participants.

Key Responsibilities:

Serve as the primary liaison between employers and SERCO Workforce Centers. Market Center services to local businesses in need of qualified candidates. Coordinate employer outreach, job fairs, hiring events, and other recruitment-related activities. Consult with chambers of commerce, educational institutions, and employers on labor market trends. Facilitate job search workshops for customers and community organizations. Support job placement efforts by collaborating with case managers and reviewing employment databases. Conduct follow-ups and ensure proper documentation of work orders and placements. Provide ongoing employer engagement and support to ensure successful job retention. Prepare reports identifying areas needing additional attention or intervention.

Qualifications:

Preferred Experience & Education:

Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Public Administration, Economics, Communications, Social Science, or a related field; or Two (2) years of relevant experience in workforce services, outside sales, or business outreach (cold calling experience is a plus). Experience with workforce service programs such as WIA, TANF/Choices, FSE&T, or Welfare to Work. Strong writing skills and computer proficiency in database and reporting systems. Experience interviewing employers and assessing labor market trends. Previous training in personnel management is a plus.

Skills & Abilities:

Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities. Proficient in Microsoft Office and database management tools. Experience with job placement and retention strategies.

Special Requirements:

Valid Texas Driver's License and Automobile Liability Insurance. Reliable transportation and willingness to travel locally, including home visits as needed.

Physical Demands & Work Environment:

Ability to sit, stand, or walk for extended periods. Must be able to drive for long durations as required by job duties. Occasional lifting and setup for hiring events or community workshops.
