North Eastern Services provides support for individuals with disabilities. We help those with developmental and physical disabilities to achieve their goals and to become as independent as possible. North Eastern Services is looking for hard-working, fun, outgoing, self-motivated, and responsible people to join our team. Position Summary The Job Coach supports adults with disabilities in obtaining, learning, and maintaining meaningful employment in their community. This position works closely with individuals to identify their strengths and interests, develop employment skills, provide on-the-job training, and help create successful and lasting employment opportunities. Essential Responsibilities Assist individuals with disabilities in identifying career interests, abilities, and employment goals. Provide individualized, hands-on training and support at the worksite. Teach job duties, workplace expectations, communication skills, and appropriate workplace behaviors. Gradually reduce support as the individual becomes more independent and confident in their position. Develop positive working relationships with employers, coworkers, and individuals receiving services. Advocate for individuals while maintaining confidentiality, dignity, choice, and independence. Monitor job performance and provide ongoing coaching and problem-solving support. Assist individuals in learning workplace safety procedures and appropriate professional conduct. Communicate regularly with individuals, employers, families/support teams, and other service providers as appropriate. Maintain accurate documentation, progress notes, employment records, and required reports. Follow all agency policies, safety requirements, and applicable regulations. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education in human services, disability services, education, vocational rehabilitation, or a related field is preferred. Experience working with adults with disabilities, employment services, vocational rehabilitation, or human services is preferred. Strong communication, organization, patience, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to build respectful and supportive relationships with individuals from diverse backgrounds and abilities. Must be dependable, professional, and comfortable working in community and workplace settings. Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries. Reliable transportation and the ability to travel to various work and community locations may be required. Physical & Work Environment The Job Coach may work in office, community, and employer/worksite environments. The position may require standing, walking, sitting, lifting or carrying materials related to job training, and assisting individuals with learning workplace tasks.
