The Job Coach assists with the day-to-day needs of clients in employment settings. They carry out responsibilities in the following functional areas: client rights, job coaching and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as a positive role model and coach, helping clients build problem-solving, decision-making, conflict-resolution, and independent living skills. Learn each client's needs and support them in meeting goals in their employment setting. Provide training, demonstrations, and guidance individually and in group sessions. Ability to work a flexible schedule according to the needs of the clients and employers. Teach and encourage clients to pursue their hopes, goals, and objectives through self-direction and effective decision-making. Monitor and document client behaviors in the workplace. Requirements High school diploma/equivalent and/or relevant work or life experience. Valid Wisconsin driver's license, ability to meet agency driving standards, and proof of auto insurance. Ability to pass required Wisconsin Caregiver Background Checks and any applicable out-of-state checks. Reliable phone with voicemail and access to email. Education/Qualifications Must possess a high school diploma/equivalent and/or related work/life experience. Must be at least 18 years of age. Must possess a valid WI driver's license, and ability to meet agency driving standards. Must provide proof of auto insurance. Must pass a periodic WI Caregiver Background Check including Department of Justice Criminal Record Checks, and/or that of previous states of residence. Knowledge of and ability to intervene appropriately in crisis prevention and de-escalation when necessary. Experience working with people who have physical and mental disabilities. Experience working with individuals with severe and persistent mental illness is preferred. Successful candidates will be extremely positive, energetic, and have a passion for helping individuals with mental/physical disabilities to achieve amazing lives.
