Job Description
Provide in home support for young adults in the Agency's Assistant Living Home in Alaska. Manage basic functions of the home. Provide assistance with daily living skills to include but not limited to cooking, finance, cleaning, med management, and appointments for the residents that live in the home and insure their wellbeing. This position provides support in all activities of daily living, and ensures community inclusion opportunities are provided. Employee must follow all State and Federal Laws and Regulations regarding services being provided in the home. Caregiver will learn and assist each resident with their individual care needs and complete daily documentation. This is a live in position where you work 3.5 days each week and your weekend is 3.5 days. Your weekly time card would reflect 32 hours of regular pay and 24 hours of overtime pay. Pay depends on experience.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor and supervise individuals in various settings, such as hospitals, schools, or residential facilities
- Ensure the safety and well-being of patients or clients under your care
- Provide assistance with daily activities, including personal hygiene, feeding, and mobility
- Supervise self-medication as directed by healthcare professionals
- Monitor and document patient behavior and report any concerns to the appropriate personnel
- Assist with behavior management techniques to promote a safe and therapeutic environment
- Perform first aid and emergency procedures when necessary
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a similar role preferred, such as healthcare aide, childcare provider, or nursing assistant
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with staff, clients, and other healthcare professionals
- Valid driver's license of at least 2 years, with a clean driving record
- Knowledge of basic first aid procedures and ability to respond to emergencies promptly
- Ability to provide compassionate care and maintain confidentiality Please note that specific qualifications may vary depending on the setting or organization.
