Duties Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using proper manual handling techniques like Hoyer lifts and patient transfer methods. Monitor and observe patients' health status by checking vital signs, administering medication as prescribed, and documenting care plans accurately while adhering to HIPAA regulations. Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with meal planning and preparation to promote healthy living. Provide companionship and emotional support, fostering positive communication that respects residents' rights and dignity. Support clients with personal transportation needs for appointments or community outings, ensuring safety during transfers and travel. Maintain a clean, safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and ensuring the home is hazard-free. Document all care activities thoroughly, including patient observations, medication administration, and any changes in condition for seamless communication with healthcare teams. Qualifications Proven experience working with individuals with disabilities or in senior care settings such as assisted living facilities or nursing homes. Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer's care, memory care techniques, and experience working with individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders or developmental disabilities. Strong understanding of patient monitoring procedures, care plans development, and resident's rights. Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional certifications in HIPAA compliance or hospice care are a plus. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and use patient transfer equipment like Hoyer lifts effectively. Excellent client communication skills with a compassionate approach to caregiving. Experience working with diverse populations including geriatrics, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), intellectual disabilities, or other developmental conditions is highly desirable. Valid driver's license preferred for personal transportation assistance; must be reliable and punctual.
